Gayle Cooper is a 3D artist and maker with a Creature Effects and Prosthetic Make Up background, based in the UK .

Working primarily in Film, TV and Creative industries with 18 years experience both on-set and in workshops with a diverse skill set and credit list.

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2008 with a degree in Model Making and Special Effects. Over the years I have worked for most of the leading Creature Effects and Prosthetic Designers and workshops in the UK including Millennium FX, Animated Extras, Neal Scanlan Studios, Mark Coulier, David White and John Nolan. Notable credits include Barbie, Star Wars, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Doctor Who and Jurassic World Dominion.

Much of my work has a particular focus in Art Finishing; I have a passion for painting, with a wide understanding of mediums and techniques. I also have a broad skillset in working with Hair and Fur techniques, an expertise that’s commonly requested; with in-depth understanding in how to produce finishing effects for animals, creatures and humans. This attention to detail and ‘full picture’ ability has been fundamental for me in the application of Make Ups and Prosthetics, and is a unique experience I can offer in this field.

I love to make things! Problem solving, education and innovation are the things that really drive me, and I will always try to seek out projects that speak to these values and drive me creatively. I have more recently branched out into departments and projects such as Costume Props, Prop Painting, Scenic and Soft Props and Private art commissions which gained me new and valuable experience and knowledge, which I hope to explore further in the future.

From 2013 I also gained experience in teaching Prosthetics, Hair Techniques and Postiche at Degree level and Tutoring for Private Courses.
